Artisan Socks Sizing Info

Here's the info we have for you about sizing in general and by brand we carry.

Sock Sizing

Socks are stretchy, and most of our socks and arm and leg warmers are "one size fits most" which means, for the majority of the socks, that they are the standard sock size of women’s 9-11, which is supposed to fit a women’s shoe size of about 4-10, maybe 11 after some stretching (for men’s sizes, subtract 2 from the women’s shoe size).

We do offer some sock brands that come in different sizes, and all of our tights and most of our leggings also have weight or height information to help you choose the right fit for you.
If you have especially large or small feet, we recommend our line of Happy Socks that come in three sizes for smaller and larger feet. These are great for women whose feet are smaller than a size 7 are a size 10 or larger. As a size 6.5, I personally love how the heels of the small Happy Socks actually hits my heel.

Cotton socks tend to stretch out and become looser over time, while some of the other materials will hug your legs a little closer. Nylon and lycra blends, like those in our print tights and socks, are extremely stretchy, but the more they stretch, the less opaque they become. Other materials, like wool, angora, and mohair, tend to mold to your feet and fit nice and snug on your legs. Angora socks are snug and super stretchy, while mohair socks are thicker, but they don’t stretch out as much. Our SmartWool wool socks use their special precision fit system, so don’t forget to check the product pages for specific sizing information.

In terms of sock height, what may be knee highs on some people may only come up to mid calf for others, and what may just barely go over the knee for some may go thigh high for others, so it’s best to keep past sock experiences in mind and use a little common sense to figure out what length is appropriate for your own body since you probably know better than we do.

Arm and Leg Warmer Sizing

All of our arm and leg warmers are super comfy and warm, but some are a little stretchier than others. There are also some that are labeled as arm or leg warmers, but they may only work for either your arms or your legs, depending on your body shape and usage preferences.

Lara Kazan Leg Warmers:

These leg warmers range from scrunchable on your lower leg to just over the knee, and many have added ties or tabs for flexible sizing, which also make them look great over shoes for a boot cover look.

Vintage Creations Cashmere Arm Warmers:

Generally meant for the lower arm, these cashmere arm warmers are about 8-12 inches at the hand (for where your four fingers go) with a 3 inch circumference for the thumb hole, and 12-14 inches at the widest end. See individual arm warmer pages for specific measurements.

Sock It To Me Leg Warmers:

Some of these can go thigh high or more on some people, and they’re great for scrunching at shorter lengths.

Rockn Socks Arm / Leg Warmers:

Great for arms or legs, these recycled cotton Rockn Socks arm and leg warmers start at around 7 inches unstretched and can stretch to about 20 inches around.

Z International Dual Warmers:

These arm and leg warmers have a hole that will fit either your thumb or your heel and stretch to about 14-15 inches at the top.
